Amanda Bossard was just out high school when she began her studies in marine biology at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard started her career as a commercial seafood expert in 1999 when she began working as a crew member on the F/V Sunset, a 65' halibut-schooner, which has become a to salmon tender with Murat Aritan. She has been who has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard and Aritan are now married and are working together in claiming their share of their respective industries. Both of them are in favour of conserving resources as well as maximising profits. Otolith is a direct wholesale seafood distributor founded by a woman in Philadelphia in 2007, by a mother of two young children: Bella aged 3, and Andre aged 1. Her husband has a long experience in the industry of fish, which often keeps them separate for five months or more. That's when they're focusing on their financial and environment goals.
